And the lion fell in love with the lamb...
A year has passed since vampires and werewolves alike stood together to protect the newest member of the Cullen family from the Volturi. Since then, things have partially gone back to normal. The Cullens still reside in Forks, Washington, the Quileute Wolf Pack can often be found wondering the forest for enemy 'leeches', and Jacob is still bound to Reneesmee's side. Though, just as the Cullen family and their neighboring allies begin to let down their guard they recieve a message from the Danali coven that sends a wirl wind of questions throughout the vampire community.
For the last two months, small packs of vampires have slowly gone missing. At first, others didn't realize that lone packs of 1 - 3 were disappearing but as news spread throughout the vampire community more missing profiles were leaked. So far, 15 have disappeared and there isn't any evidence to point anyone in the right direction. Its as if these vampires fell from the earths surface and there's too many missing puzzle pieces to even begin solving this mess.
Theories between vampires have been circulating. Some think that the Volturi are behind this - that they're gaining numbers for a war, other think that an outside force is taking care of the 'cold ones' - that another pack like the shapeshifter werewolves exist and are plucking them off one by one, and the wiser ones (like the Romanian Coven) believes that a part of the Volturi is behind this - a greedy part that wants more glory and satisfaction then its getting.
The only people that know the truth about the the disappearance are those that were taken. None are dead but they have been captured. Who's behind it? None other then Caius from the Volturi. No, those that believed that the Volturi were behind this are still wrong. Caius worked on his own - wanting to capture vampires that he believed would be an asset when fighting his brothers - his supposed Allies. He's looking for power; power that he'd do anything to obtain and with the help of Demitri, he's slowly getting the Vampires he desires.
Now that 'The Aphotic' has formed under the power of Kian Lyric & Benadette Nott, Caius is bringing his captured vampires to them (some against their will, some willingly). The group was formed to try and bring down the Volturi so Caius is planning on helping them out and if they succeed in their mission, he plans on taking the power that he so desperately craves.
Vera Elric, a tracker for the Volturi, later finds out about 'The Aphotic' group as well as Caius and brings this information to the Volturi. The numbers of 'The Aphotic' are threatening and because of this the Volturi has no other choice then to join the Cullens and their Allies.
The battle has yet to begin
